2025 Audi Q7: Audi’s Farewell to ICE Cars

Although mid-size luxury SUVs have become one of the most competitive segments among premium carmakers, Audi hasn’t been redesigning its models for a very long time. The last time the Q7 was redesigned was way back in 2015 and even that happened after a full decade since the launch of the first generation. So, we will soon see a similar scenario, where the next model, the third generation is about to arrive as the 2025 Audi Q7, also ten years after the launch of the current model.

At this point, we don’t know much about the new model but we know for sure it will feature internal-combustion engines. Some sources suggest it will be Audi’s last model with gas engines, before the complete switch to electrics. For that reason, we are pretty sure that the company won’t spend too many resources and that the new model will rather be an evolution of the current generation.

We expect to see it sometime in 2025.

2025 Audi Q7 Design

As mentioned, this will be one of the last ICE models in Audi’s lineup. Therefore, we probably won’t be seeing anything radical. Instead of spending resources on the development of new design solutions, the 2025 Audi Q7 will rather rely on proven technologies, with evolutionary changes only. What this mean is that the overall layout won’t change and that the new model will ride on the same, though slightly updated, MLB architecture. We presume it will gain a couple of new technologies, particularly in terms of advanced driver-assistance features.

Of course, we could also see slight chassis upgrades, as well as an updated suspension. Still, the suspension upgrades will probably be minimal, considering that the current model is already impressive in this aspect. It features a super smooth ride, thanks to the standard air suspension, but also ensures composed handling and a pretty decent level of athleticism.

Exterior

As for the exterior design, we presume that there will be no significant changes in terms of size and proportions. The new model should keep a familiar shape and familiar layout. Therefore, count on a mid-size SUV design, with a little bit sleeker design than rivals like BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, which make it looks more like a massive wagon than a classic SUV.

Of course, the company will implement new aesthetics. The new model should look bolder and more muscular, while the key differences should happen at the front. In that part, we expect to see the implementation of the new design language, though no one knows the exact appearance at the moment. WE presume some bits couple be taken from the Chinese market Q6, as well as the all-electric e-tron. We expect renderings to start showing in the near future.

Interior

The same thing is with the interior design. The officials aren’t generous with details, but some things are pretty easy to predict. Of course, this primarily refers to the overall layout, which shouldn’t be much different compared to the outgoing model. The seating configuration will remain the same, but we hope that the new model could offer a little bit more space in the third row. Moreover, the cargo area would also use a little bit more space.

As for the dashboard and overall cabin design, we count on Audi’s typical design approach. There shouldn’t be much drama, as we expect to see conservative aesthetics, in combination with high-quality materials and excellent fit and finish. Of course, the cabin will be stacked with high-tech features, as that has always been one of Audi’s trademarks, especially when it comes to infotainment and other convenience features.

2025 Audi Q7 Engines

As mentioned, this will probably be Audi’s last new ICE model. Therefore, we probably won’t be significant changes under the hood, though each of the current engine options will probably get some power upgrade, starting from the base 2.0-liter turbo-four with 250 horsepower. The 3.0-liter that currently puts out around 335 horsepower should also carry on, just like the good-old 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is available in a couple of variants, including the SQ7 model that currently puts out 500 horsepower.

Moreover, we expect plug-in hybrids finally to be offered in North America. So far, these units were available in Europe, two of them, both based on a V6 engine, with 376 and 450 horsepower. Of course, these systems will probably be upgraded, not just in terms of power. We also expect to see new battery technology, which would significantly increase all-electric autonomy.

2025 Audi Q7 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2025 Audi Q7 will arrive sometime in 2025. The current model starts at around 60.000, but we can’t make predictions about the next generation, considering that prices have been skyrocketing in the last few years.
