Despite that the current generation of Nissan’s mid-size SUV has been around since 2015, we haven’t heard any word about the possible redesign yet. The officials have been quiet all this time, while many reports were speculating about discontinuation. Besides these two, there is also the third possible scenario, which would bring no changes, but rather a typical carryover model. In that case, the 2024 Nissan Murano would continue in the same way, without more important updates.
In the case of a redesign, we would see a full load of updates, just like we saw in the recent redesigns of Pathfinder and Rogue. Of course, the new model would once again be slotted between these two, while the new generation would probably bring not just a new design, but a lot of novelties under the hood as well.
For now, the only thing we could do is wait for the officials to come up with some info.
2024 Nissan Murano Design
The future of the 2024 Nissan Murano is still unknown. As we already mentioned, the officials are still quiet, which indicates that the next year’s model could carry on in the same way. That would mean the same overall design that was introduced eight years ago. Not many things have changed since then, so it’s no wonder that this mid-size crossover is starting to look old.
In the case of a full redesign, this would change completely. The new generation would probably continue to ride on the D platform, which would be significantly updated, with new technologies and mechanics. Naturally, we would see a completely new look, with the front end based on the brand’s latest design language. The suspension setup would be significantly upgraded too, offering more engaging handling, more direct steering and more.
Interior
With eight years in production, it’s no wonder that the current generation is starting to look old from the inside. Simply, rivals are much younger and come with nicer materials and more modern aesthetics. Still, Murano holds against them pretty well and also comes equipped with a long list of standard equipment. The seating configuration is the same in all variants and, despite mid-size dimensions, there are just two rows of seats, which are both very generous with space.
If redesigned, the 2024 Nissan Murano would look way better from the insider. The cabin space probably wouldn’t change much but, on the other hand, we are witnessing that the new generations of Nissan’s SUVs look very luxurious, with very elegant aesthetics, nice materials and lots of tech features. Of course, the seating configuration would remain the same, offering enough space to accommodate five adults with ease.
Features
Once again, we are talking about two possible scenarios. The first one is to see a carryover model in which case, things would remain pretty much unchanged. For reference, the 2023 model comes standard with goodies like dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, a six-speaker audio system, four USB ports and Bluetooth. Also, there are available features like navigation, an 11-speaker Bose audio system, remote start and a panoramic moonroof.
In the case of a full redesign, the new generation would bring a lot of novelties for sure. Of course, new tech features are one of the first things that come to mind. The 2024 Nissan Murano would come with a new, larger infotainment screen with updated software, new connectivity features etc. We would also expect to see things like an instrument cluster, along with additional comfort and convenience features.
2024 Nissan Murano Engines
Under the hood, the 2024 Nissan Murano would continue in the same way if there is no redesign to come. In that case, we would see the same 3.5-liter V6, which is tuned to 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. It comes coupled with a CVT and offers quite decent driving dynamics, in a combination with very good fuel economy. In numbers, that would be around 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The full redesign would bring a completely new powertrain. The V6 would be ditched and we presume that the replacement would come in the form of a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 272 horsepower. Also, we believe that the current CVT would be replaced with a classic automatic transmission, just like it happened with the new Pathfinder. In that way, the new generation would improve their driving experience significantly.
2024 Nissan Murano Release Date and Price
The officials are still quiet about the 2024 Nissan Murano so we can only speculate about the price and launch date in the case of a redesign. On the other hand, a carryover model would probably come sometime in the fourth quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 34.000 dollars.
