The Mahindra Scorpio has been a popular SUV in India and other countries for many years. It is known for its rugged build, powerful engine, and spacious interior. However, the Scorpio has not undergone a significant redesign in several years, which has led many to speculate about the possibility of a second-generation model. The second generation finally arrived last year, with plenty of substantial changes, so we expect that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will carry on without bigger changes.
The new model features a number of improvements and upgrades that make it a more attractive option for SUV buyers. That’s why we are pretty sure that the second production year will be a typical carryover model. We could see minor enhancements, in terms of new color options or a few new standard features but the overall layout will certainly remain the same.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Design
One of the most noticeable changes in the Scorpio N is its updated exterior styling. The new model features a more modern and aggressive design language that includes sharper lines and a more prominent grille. The Scorpio N also has new LED headlights and taillights, which give it a more premium look. The overall effect is a more muscular and modern appearance that should help the Scorpio N stand out in a crowded market. As we’ve just mentioned, the only changes we could see in this aspect are new color options, but even that doesn’t look particularly likely.
One of the key advantages of the Scorpio N is its off-road capabilities. Mahindra has a strong reputation for producing SUVs that are capable of handling tough terrain, and the Scorpio N is no exception. The new model features a four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer case, which makes it ideal for off-road adventures.
What’s even more impressive is that, even though the second generation maintained the ruggedness of the previous model, it also came with a completely new suspension setup to improve on-road manners. The 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will continue with a new independent front suspension system, which replaces the previous generation’s torsion bar setup. This new system includes a double-wishbone front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic shock absorbers. The rear end now comes with a torsion beam setup with hydraulic shock absorbers.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Engine
Under the hood, the Scorpio N is powered by a new 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, giving buyers the choice of a traditional manual gearbox or a more convenient automatic option.
A diesel version is also available, equipped with a new mHawk diesel engine, which is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder unit that produces 140 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Interior
Inside, the new generation has been significantly updated to offer a more modern and comfortable interior, and the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will certainly continue in the same way. The new model features a larger infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a new digital instrument cluster. The interior is also more spacious than the previous generation, thanks to a longer wheelbase and improved packaging.
Standard models come with relatively basic equipment, with goodies like power windows, manual air conditioning, electronic side mirrors,tilt-adjustable steering wheel, central locking etc. Also, there is a good portion of safety features. Mahindra has equipped the new model with a range of advanced safety features, including electronic stability control, hill hold and descent control, and an anti-lock braking system. The Scorpio N also has front and side airbags, which provide added protection for occupants in the event of a collision. We expect that the next year’s model will carry on in the same way.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. It should continue at a very affordable price, with base models going around INR 12 lakhs, which is approximately USD 16,000.
