2024 Lincoln Nautilus: End of Production (Replaced With EV SUV)

2024 Lincoln Nautilus

The latest reports suggest that the Nautilus will end its production pretty soon. The model that came in 2019 will be replaced with an EV SUV, even though we haven’t heard such words from the officials. Still, it’s easy to conclude such a scenario, considering that the Oakville factory, in which the Nautilus is produced, will soon switch to the production of EV cars. The Nautilus will be produced until the summer of 2024, so it’s pretty clear that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will be the final model year.

This also indicates that we won’t be seeing bigger changes. We count on a familiar design, which hasn’t changed much since 2019 when the nameplate debuted. Therefore, you may count on a familiar design, as well as on the familiar strengths and weaknesses of this luxury mid-size SUV.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus Design

Design-wise, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will bring no bigger changes. As we already mentioned, this nameplate has been in use since 2019, though we could say that this SUV is a little bit older, considering that the mechanical aspect is pretty much the same as in the predecessor, the MKX, which was produced between 2016 and 2018.

You may count on a familiar design, which follows the brand’s contemporary design language. It looks elegant and quite appealing, and we are pretty sure that the classic design approach will ensure this model’s aging with style. In terms of ride quality, this SUV is more about comfort, while the high level of athleticism isn’t something that this SUV provides. After all, base models come with front-wheel drive, which isn’t something you would expect from a premium crossover.

Interior

The same thing goes for interior design. We are about to see a familiar design, which came with the 2019 model year. For that occasion, we saw a completely new dashboard, with the improved build quality, nicer materials and new tech features. So, the dash still looks modern and attractive, which clearly indicates that Lincoln engineers won’t bother much with the interior for the final production year.

Of course, the overall layout will also remain the same, which means that you may count on two rows of seats, which both offer plenty of space to accommodate adult passengers. The front seats are particularly comfortable, with good side support and a very good driving position. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 37.2 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats and 68.8 cubic feet of the total volume. That’s above average for a mid-size luxury SUV.

Features

As we are talking about the final production year of the generation, it’s pretty much for sure that most things will remain the same in terms of standard and available equipment. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control etc.

Among upgrades, expect to find things like smartphone keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, navigation, wireless device charging, a 13- or 19-speaker Revel stereo, HD Radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

When it comes to safety features, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist etc.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus Engine

Of course, things under the hood will also remain the same. So, base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 250 horsepower. That’s plenty enough for decent driving dynamics but you can also opt for a more powerful 2.7-liter V6, which puts out 335 horsepower and offers notably better performance. Both engines come in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty good job too. As we already mentioned, standard models feature front-wheel drive, while AWD is available.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with the base engine, which is quite typical for the class. Of course, the V6 is slightly thirstier and returns around 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to happen, we presume that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023. Also, the price should remain pretty much the same as for the current model, which starts at around 44.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Cadillac XT5, Infiniti QX60 etc.
