America’s most popular mid-size luxury crossover has just been redesigned for the 2023 model year. With a full load of novelties, there is no doubt it will retain its leading position in the market. Does this mean that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 is about to come without more important changes? Probably. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates. Those may come in the form of new standard features, but we might also see some updates in terms of aesthetics, in terms of a new color option or something like that.
In any case, the overall layout will remain the same and the next year’s RX will continue to deliver familiar design characteristics. There are many things to like about this SUV, starting from the comfortable ride, excellent fuel economy and smooth and comfortable ride. Furthermore, the interior build quality is excellent, while the materials are very nice too. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to the small cargo area.
2024 Lexus RX 350 Design
So, the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will represent the second production year and, therefore, we don’t believe that more significant changes could happen. This SUV will continue with the same design, which is now based on the TNGA platform and provides better ride quality than before. The new mode is also mostly about comfort, but the center of gravity is lower now, while the steering feels more direct. All this results in a much better driving experience, considering that the new model also offers a relatively decent level of athleticism, along with a smooth and comfortable ride.
The recent redesign also brought new aesthetics. The new model looks more elegant than before, with a smaller number of super-sharp lines and a more mature overall approach. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates for the next year, such as new color options.
Interior
The same goes for the 2024 Lexus RX 350 interior, which should carry on in a familiar way, with a familiar design and features. The best we could see are new color schemes but even that doesn’t seem particularly likely. Still, the lack of changes doesn’t mean anything bad, considering that the current cabin features exceptional build quality, which guarantees years of exploitation. Furthermore, the materials are super-fine, while there is also a very generous amount of tech and convenience features.
The new generation features a longer wheelbase and therefore, there is more legroom in both rows. The front seats are excellent, some of the best in class when it comes to comfort and support. The second row is also very comfortable and accommodates three passengers with ease. On the other hand, we can’t say many good things about the cargo area, as it is among the smallest in the class. Practically, you may count on no more than 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Features
This is where we could see a couple of novelties. A few goodies might be added to the list of standard equipment but keep in mind that there aren’t many possible upgrades, considering that the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect. It comes standard with goodies like a 9.8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, six USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, keyless entry, push-button start, multizone automatic climate control and ambient lighting.
Also, the current model is available with a 14-inch touch screen, navigation, the Hey Lexus virtual assistant, a 21-speaker stereo and wireless device charging, as well as a moonroof and a digital key app, so we presume some of these things might become part of the standard equipment.
2024 Lexus RX 350 Engine
The recent redesign brought big changes under the hood and the RX 350 doesn’t stand anymore for a 3.5-liter V6. Instead, the new generation features a 2.4-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. Compared to the V6, it offers more low-end torque and feels more practical in an everyday ride, even though it isn’t as smooth as the old V6.
Still, we think you will soon forget about smoothness once you realize that this mid-size crossover returns around 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is excellent for the class. What’s not so great is towing capacity, which goes around 3.500 pounds.
2024 Lexus RX 350 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, probably without bigger changes in price. The current model starts at around 48.000 dollars and competes with models like BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Acura MDX etc.
