The Renegade has been around for a full 8 years and even though that may seem like a pretty long period for a subcompact SUV, the company won’t rush to change it. Instead, it will rather continue with the current generation for several more years. To keep it fresh and competitive, it will make another update, which could include not just visual updates, but changes in other aspects as well, such as interior changes, and even upgrades under the hood. The 2024 Jeep Renegade should arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year.
Despite the potential updates, the overall design won’t change much. We will see a familiar layout, with a design that still has a lot of great things to offer, starting from the smooth and comfortable ride, good off-road performance, spacious cabin etc. On the other hand, the biggest complaints go to the uninspiring powertrain and lack of driving excitement.
2024 Jeep Renegade Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the current generation will remain in production for some more time and therefore, the company will probably bring up another update. Most likely, we will see the same kind f changes we saw in the last year’s Brazilian-market version, which already received a mild facelift. That update brought a couple of pretty exciting changes, starting from the revised front bumper, with new foglights, reshaped air vents etc. Also, the grille and headlights look a little bit different, along with a new hood design.
All in all, these updates would make the 2024 Jeep Renegade look better, even though it is still a pretty attractive vehicle. Other than the visual changes, we don’t believe that the next year’s update could bring anything significant. We expect to see the same mechanics, with the same chassis and suspension setup, which provide a pretty smooth and comfortable ride.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, we believe that the 2024 Jeep Renegade could bring a couple of updates as well. The dashboard might get some revisions, while we also count on a new steering wheel because the aforementioned Brazilian-market model got one. Also, we might see new tech features, including not just a bigger infotainment screen, but a digital instrument cluster as well. Furthermore, the upcoming refresh would probably bring goodies like new color schemes, materials etc.
On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same, so you may count on the same seating configuration. There are two rows of seats, both pretty generous with legroom and very generous with headroom, due to the boxy design. The cargo area is rather average for the class, with around 18.5 cubic feet behind the second row and nearly 50 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Features
This aspect should also bring a couple of interesting novelties. We already mentioned things like the new infotainment screen and instrument cluster. Other updates are possible too. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a USB port, HD Radio, satellite radio and a six-speaker stereo, as well as remote keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone climate control etc.
We presume that some of the current options could be added to the list of standard equipment too. For example, there are goodies like a nine-speaker stereo, proximity keyless entry, remote start, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.
New safety features are possible too. The current model comes standard with goodies like a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Among options that could potentially become standard in the next year’s model, you can find goodies like front and rear parking sensors, parallel and perpendicular park assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc.
2024 Jeep Renegade Engine
When it comes to powertrain, we have no doubt that the base 2024 Jeep Renegade will carry on with a familiar 1.3-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission and the overall performance isn’t particularly great. The average fuel economy isn’t great either, as you may count on up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, the great thing is that all models come standard with four-wheel drive.
Also, some sources suggest that the company could introduce a plug-in hybrid version to the North American market. Such a version already debuted in Europe, with a system that combines a 1.3-liter turbo-four with an electric motor, for a total output of 240 horsepower. The officials are still quiet on this matter.
