The legendary nameplate was revived a couple of years ago and we are witnessing its increase in popularity every year. It has come pretty close to the point where it becomes a segment leader, as the gap between this model and Wrangler is marginal. It looks like the Blue Oval Company has a few more trumps up its sleeve, to boost its sales. Of course, this refers to novelties and the 2024 Ford Bronco is expected to come with a couple of them.
From what we can get from unofficial reports, the company is working on a new powertrain option, a new hybrid system. Some sources also speculate about an early facelift, though we don’t see such an outcome particularly likely. Finally, there is always room for minor updates, for the introduction of novelties like new trim levels, new packages etc.
In any case, we don’t believe that the 2024 Ford Bronco could arrive much earlier than usual. We expect to see it in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Ford Bronco Powertrain Upgrades
These are probably the most anticipated upgrades for the next year. Although the current model comes in three variants regarding the powertrain, all of them are gasoline-powered. On the other hand, the Wrangler is also available with diesel and hybrid powertrain options. A diesel version of Bronco is not expected but the arrival of a hybrid is just a matter of time.
From what we know so far, the company is already working on a new system, which would be based on a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine. Most likely, it will debut in the Austalian-market Ranger first, and then in Bronco.
The rest of the lineup should carry on in the same way, starting from a 300-hp turbo-four engine. The first upgrade comes in the form of a 2.7-liter V6, which is good for 330 horsepower. Finally, the Bronco Raptor comes exclusively with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out 418 horsepower.
2024 Ford Bronco Design
Powertrain updates aren’t the only ones we could see in the next year’s model. Sources like Ford Authority also suggest a facelift, which would bring notable styling changes. We don’t believe that a major refresh could happen so quickly but, on the other hand, we expect that the 2024 Ford Bronco could bring smaller-scale updates, in terms of new trim levels or appearance packages.
The same is with the interior design. The cabin layout will remain the same, available in two styles – 2- and 4-door variants. Both feature pretty good interior quality and despite the vehicle’s rugged nature, everything looks pretty refined on the inside. Of course, models with four doors offer way more passenger and cargo space, while the 2-door model brings a different kind of quality, as its short wheelbase significantly improves off-road potential.
Trim Levels and Features
As we’ve just mentioned, the next year’s model might bring new trim levels or packages, while the current variants should carry on in the same way. Therefore, base models will be equipped pretty well, with off-road features like a two-speed transfer case, all-season tires, hill-start assist, hill descent control etc. Also, there is a good portion of tech and conventional features, such as n 8-inch touch screen, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster with an analog speedometer, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a seven-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, remote keyless entry, push-button start and many more.
The Big Bend is the first upgrade, which brings goodies like fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and 32-inch all-terrain tires. Moreover, it also unlocks the whole range of available features.
The Black Diamond brings further upgrades, both in terms of off-road performance and comfort and convenience. Some of the highlights are goodies like vinyl upholstery, rubberized flooring with drain plugs, steel bumpers, protective rock rails, full-length skid plates and a locking rear differential.
For additional comfort and convenience, there is the Outer Banks trim, which comes standard with heated front seats, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote start, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, side steps and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Heritage Edition is mostly about unique styling details, such as unique cloth upholstery and a two-tone color scheme with a white-colored grille, roof, wheels, side stripes and dashboard.
Badlands, Wildtrak and Everglades are off-road trim, with additional pieces of hardware. Finally, there is the Bronco Raptor, equipped with the potent twin-turbo V6, adaptive Fox shock absorbers, 37-inch tires, upgraded axles and brakes, a reinforced frame and many more.
2024 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Ford Bronco will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. The two-door model should feature starting price of around 33.000 dollars, while the 4-door model should go around 37.000 dollars.
