The RDX has been a strong seller for years and we expect nothing less from the next year’s 2024 Acura RDX model, which is expected to march on without bigger changes. The current generation has been around since 2019 and after the 2022 update, we presume that there are a few more model years to come before a complete overhaul. The next year’s model is expected to carry on with familiar design and features, though there is always room for minor tweaks, such as new color options, new standard features etc.
You may count on a vehicle that has a lot of great things to offer, starting from a pretty attractive price. We like its striking exterior design, along with a capable powertrain and pretty engaging handling. Furthermore, the cabin is spacious and comfortable, while the list of standard and available equipment is pretty generous. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to the complicated infotainment system and the lack of powertrain upgrades.
2024 Acura RDX Design
So, the 2024 Acura RDX will represent the sixth production year of the generation and therefore, we don’t believe it could bring any bigger changes. Instead, we are about to see a familiar design, which has been around since 2019 and which received only minor styling updates in 2022. The car still looks very attractive, so the best we could see in the next year are things like new color options.
The same thing is with the mechanics, where we expect to see a familiar layout, characterized by a pretty good chassis and suspension setup, which ensures pretty engaging handling, but a smooth and comfortable ride at the same time. The RDX feels particularly sporty if you pick the company’s well-known all-wheel-drive system, which provides excellent grip and brings an extra dose of athleticism.
Interior
On the inside, the 2024 Acura RDX would carry on in the same way as well. We would see the same layout, which offers nice aesthetics in a combination with fine materials and lots of tech and convenience features. The cabin looks pretty upscale, though not as luxurious as more expensive German rivals, such as the Audi Q5. Still, everything feels assembled pretty well, while the last year’s update also brought notable improvements in terms of sound insulation.
Typically for Honda/Acura models, the driving position is excellent, while the front seats are well-shaped and quite spacious. The second row is also generous with space and accommodates adult passengers with ease. Even the cargo area offers good capacity for the class, with 29.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats upright and 58.9 cubic feet in total.
Features
When it comes to standard and available equipment, we might see a few upgrades but most things will probably remain the same. Therefore, base models should come with goodies like a 10.2-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker stereo, multiple USB ports, satellite radio, HD Radio, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a panoramic roof.
Among upgrades, expect to find goodies like a 12- or 16-speaker ELS Studio premium stereo, navigation, wireless device charging, GPS-linked climate control, multicolor ambient interior lighting and remote start.
When it comes to safety features, we expect base models to come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams and many more.
2024 Acura RDX Engine
Things under the hood certainly won’t change. So, all RDX models will continue with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out 272 horsepower. That’s a pretty impressive amount of power, especially when compared to base engines from other models in the class. However, most rivals are available with powertrain upgrades, with six cylinders or hybrid powertrains.
In any case, this engine offers pretty good overall performance. The acceleration is quick, while the 10-speed automatic transmission does a really good job. We also like the optional all-wheel-drive very much. Also, fuel economy is pretty good for the class, and goes up to 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
2024 Acura RDX Release Date and Price
Since there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2024 Acura RDX will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 43.000 dollars.
