The recent refresh is a clear indicator that the current generation of Nissan’s full-size SUV will remain in production for some more time. The Japanese manufacturer did a lot of things to keep this SUV fresh and competitive. We saw a new styling, new interior design and a slight power increase. All this means that the 2023 Nissan Armada is about to continue in the same way, with familiar design and features. Minor changes are always possible, especially in terms of new standard features and color options.
Whether we see some minor updates or not, the 2023 Nissan Armada will continue to offer the same design characteristics. This SUV offers strong driving dynamics and it is quite easy to drive. Furthermore, the cabin is pretty generous with space, while the infotainment system is pretty easy to use. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to poor fuel economy, while the cargo area isn’t particularly generous either.

2023 Nissan Armada Design
The 2023 Nissan Armada is about to carry on in the same way. Therefore, we will see a familiar design, which was updated a year ago. That update brought completely new styling, with new headlights, bolder grille, new bumper and many other changes. As a result, the current model looks pretty fresh and we don’t believe it could change in the next few years.
The mechanical aspect of the vehicle hasn’t changed much since the initial launch. We are still talking about a vehicle that rides on the good-old F-Alpha platform and shares most of its parts with Nissan Patrol, which has been around since 2010. Despite the age, this SUV still offers a pretty good driving experience, with a smooth and comfortable ride.
Interior
The cabin is arguably one of the strongest points of this SUV. Simply, the Armada benefits a lot from its close relation to the Infiniti QX80. Although some elements of the cabin may look old, the overall quality is at a premium level, and it’s pretty easy to see that Armada’s interior is more upscale compared to models like Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition. Furthermore, the recent update brought a new infotainment screen and a completely new center stack.
Besides great quality, the Armada also offers a lot of passenger space. The first two rows are very generous in this aspect, while the third row is also quite functional. The front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is very good.
The cargo area offers around 16.5 cubic feet behind the third row, 49.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 95.4 cubic feet of total cargo space. That’s clearly plenty of space, but still below-average for the segment.
Features
We don’t believe that many things could change in this aspect. Moreover, the list of standard equipment should remain pretty much the same as in the current model. So, all models should come standard with goodies like proximity keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, navigation, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, four USB ports, a four-speaker stereo, and Bluetooth. The list of optional features should include a 13-speaker Bose stereo, wireless device charging, and a second-row entertainment system, as well as a moonroof, a household-style power outlet, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a universal garage door opener, and a remote start.
When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, parking sensors etc.
2023 Nissan Armada Engine
Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2023 Nissan Armada will continue with the recently updated 5.6-liter V8 engine, which puts out around 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and comes in pair with a 7-speed automatic transmission, which is a little bit slow but very smooth. Base models come with rear-wheel drive, while four-wheel drive is available too.
As we already mentioned, one of Armada’s weakest points is fuel economy. You may count on no more than 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. That’s pretty low for the segment.
