After the recent redesign that has brought tons of novelties, it’s hard to believe that the 2023 Lexus NX, which will represent the second production year of the generation, could come with more important changes. Instead, we expect to see the same overall design, which brings all kinds of improvements over the previous model. Of course, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates, such as new color options and more standard equipment.
All in all, you may count on familiar design characteristics. The new model features a slightly more conservative look than the previous generation but comes with two times more powertrain options on the offer. We like the comfortable ride, as well as the excellent interior quality and a full load of standard equipment. On the other hand, sporty-oriented drivers will probably feel the lack of athleticism, considering that this SUV is mostly about the relaxed drive.
As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Lexus NX will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.
2023 Lexus NX Design
Design-wise, the recent overhaul has brought a lot of interesting novelties. So, we expect the 2023 Lexus NX to continue in the same way. We are about to see the same design, based on the TNGA platform, which brings notable improvements regarding handling and driving experience in general. The new model is easy to drive and offers s a high level of comfort. If you need something more engaging, the F-Sport version is in the offer too, with adaptive suspension and a few more upgrades for better handling.
Visually, the new generation has brought a more mature look. Of course, the famous grille is here, but headlights feature a more conventional shape, while the rear end is highlighted by a long horizontal stripe that connects not-so-sharp taillights.
Interior
On the inside, everything comes in a typical Lexus fashion. The dashboard comes with a classic design, which combines a conservative look with a couple of quirky details. What’s more important, the materials are great. You will find a combination of nice leather, wood trim, chrome details and similar materials. Typically for Lexus, the build quality is excellent.
Besides impressive build quality, the 2023 Lexus NX will also continue to offer a high level of comfort. Like any other Lexus, this one also features some of the best seats in the class. Furthermore, the amount of space is generous in both rows, so we can say that this compact luxury crossover accommodates five adult passengers pretty easily.
The driving position is excellent, as is the overall ergonomics. On the other hand, the rearward visibility could be a little bit better.
Features
As we are talking about the premium segment, it’s no wonder that the list of standard and available equipment is very long. We already mentioned all kinds of materials that can be found inside the cabin. Furthermore, you can also find several convenience upgrades, such as a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, an ambient interior lighting system with 64 different color choices, open-pore wood trim, etc.
When it comes to tech features, there is a new infotainment system, which now comes with a touchscreen interface, thankfully. Standard models come with a 9.8-inch unit, while the higher trims are equipped with a massive 14.0-inch infotainment screen. Of course, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, as well as a 10-speaker stereo system is standard and comes with a free trial of Amazon Music. Additionally, you can get upgrades like a 17-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system, wireless charging, head-up display and many more.
2023 Lexus NX Engines
While the previous generation of this compact crossover was offered with two engine options, the new model comes with four. The offer starts with a classic 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which features a max output of 203 horsepower, just like in the RAV4. If you are up for something peppier, there is a new 2.4-liter turbo-four engine, which puts out around 275 horsepower. Both models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either front or all wheels.
The hybrid model uses a family system based on a 2.5-liter engine. In this case, the max output goes up to 239 horsepower. Of course, the system comes with a CVT gearbox. Finally, there is the new, plug-in hybrid system, the same one that powers the RAV4 Prime, which puts out 302 horsepower.
2023 Lexus NX Release Date and Price
Since there are no significant changes to come for the second production year, we believe that the 2023 Lexus NX will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022. The starting price will go around 39.000 dollars, while the hybrid will be available at around $42.000. The Plug-In Hybrid will cost around 56.000 dollars.
