The famous mid-size SUV has just been redesigned after all those novelties we’ve seen, it would be normal to expect no bigger changes for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, that won’t be the case with Grand Cherokee. The company prepares a pack of novelties that everyone expects. Of course, we are talking about performance versions of the SUV, which are still in the works. That should include a version equipped with the Hellcat engine as well.
On the other hand, the base layout will remain the same. You may count on the same SUV that offers a luxurious and spacious cabin, a comfortable ride but engaging handling and a whole lot of other qualities. Also, we shouldn’t neglect reports that suggest a hybrid version to come either. Naturally, the new, long-wheelbase version with three rows of seats will continue in the same way.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee should hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engines
As we’ve just mentioned, the biggest changes for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee should happen under the hood. Besides the two standard powertrain options that are already on the offer, the next year’s model should also come in high-performance variants. One of them should be the SRT model, which would use the well-known 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine. In the previous version, this engine was good for about 475 horsepower. So, we may expect similar numbers in the future as well.
The Trackhawk model is also expected, equipped with the monstrous 6.2-liter Hellcat engine, with a max output that goes way over 700 horsepower.
On the other hand, standard versions will continue in the same way. Therefore, the 3.6-liter V6 will remain the base engine, with a max output of 290 horsepower. A more capable 5.7-liter V8 will remain the first upgrade, with the max output of 357 horsepower.
Of course, there is also a plug-in hybrid version to come, with a system based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that puts out around 375 horsepower.
All engines will come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Design
This aspect definitely won’t bring changes. The recent redesign has brought a lot of new things, starting from a completely new platform. This SUV now rides on the Giorgio platform, which brings significant improvements, especially in terms of athleticism and efficiency. The new model is lighter and way more fun to drive. At the same time, it is as practical as it used to be, if not even more.
Of course, the recent redesign has brought a new styling as well. We saw mostly evolutionary changes but it’s hard to deny that the new model looks really attractive. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee won’t bring changes, at least when it comes to standard models. On the other hand, we presume that the new performance versions will come with lots of exclusive details, which will accentuate their sporty character.
Interior
The same thing goes for interior design. Things should remain the same, as the new model looks pretty impressive in many ways. Of course, the first thing you’ll notice is the new dashboard design, which utilizes high-quality materials and comes with a full load of tech features. Also, the cabin is pretty spacious and that particularly refers to the new three-row version, which accommodates up to 7 passengers.
When it comes to cargo capacity, the standard two-row model is good for about 37.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 70.8 cubic feet of the total volume, which is below average for the segment. On the other hand, the three-row model is good for about 17.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 46.9 cubic feet with the third row folded down and 84.6 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. Those are typical ratings for a three-row mid-size SUV.
Features
Yearly updates usually bring a few new things to the list of standard and available equipment. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee will probably do the same, though we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. So, all models should come standard with goodies like a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control etc.
Expect to find things like quad-zone climate control, a dual-pane sunroof, a 10.1-inch touch screen, a 10.25-inch passenger-side touch screen, navigation, a nine-speaker Alpine stereo, a 19-speaker McIntosh stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the list of options.
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Release Date and Price
Despite the potential novelties, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee won’t come before the second half of the year. Base models should cost around 38.000 dollars, while the key competitors will be models like Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander etc.
