2023 Infiniti QX60 Preview: Hybrid, Price, Changes, Features

2023 Infiniti QX60 Featured

Infiniti’s mid-size SUV has just been redesigned and after all the novelties and improvements that were introduced, it’s pretty much for sure that the 2023 Infiniti QX60, which will represent the second production year of the generation, will carry on in the same way. Of course, there is always room for minor updates, such as new features and color options, while some sources even speculate about a new powertrain option. However, the overall layout will certainly remain the same.

So, the next year’s model will offer the same pack of goodies, starting from the well-designed cabin, which isn’t just well-built and nice-looking but also offers a high level of practicality and functionality. Furthermore, we like the smooth ride, as well as the smooth 9-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, handling isn’t particularly engaging, while we’ve also noticed that certain modern features are missing.

As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Infiniti QX60 will hit the market sometime late in the year.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Design

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 will represent the second production year of the generation, so it is pretty much for sure that it won’t feature any bigger changes, though new color options are always possible. The redesign has brought a lot of new things. Besides the new styling, which looks very elegant and mature, there are also significant improvements under the skin.

The new generation kept the same wheelbase and most of the dimensions, but the familiar D platform came with significant updates and upgrades. The suspension setup is all-new and it provides a smoother and more comfortable ride. Furthermore, the steering is much better too, though we have to say that the QX60 still lags behind the competition in terms of the overall driving experience.

Interior

This is certainly one of the strongest points of this SUV. Simply, everything looks just right. The dashboard is attractive, while the plush cabin comes with high-quality materials and a lot of attention to detail. Furthermore, we like the nice combination of build quality and a long list of tech features, which make this cabin look very luxurious, even when compared to more expensive German competitors.

Besides great build quality, this cabin also offers a high level of practicality. Although the wheelbase is the same as in the previous generations, the new model seems to offer a little bit more space, especially in the third row, which is quite functional. The front row is spacious, while Infiniti traditionally offers some of the best seats in the class. The second row is as spacious and accommodates adults with ease.

This SUV also offers plenty of cargo space. You may count on about 14.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 41.6 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 75.4 cubic feet, which is pretty good for this segment.

Features

We might see a couple of new things on the list of standard equipment but we are also pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same for the next year. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument gauge, a 12.3-inch touch screen, a nine-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, there are upgrades like remote start, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, wireless device charging, and a 17-speaker Bose audio.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning etc.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Engine

Although some sources speculate about the new hybrid powertrain, we are pretty sure that electrification in this model won’t happen so soon and that the 2023 Infiniti QX60 will continue with just one engine option on the offer. That would be a well-familiar 3.5-liter V6, which puts out 295 horsepower.

Although the engine was carried from the previous generation, the recent redesign brought a significant novelty in terms of transmission. The uninspiring and noisy CVT has been replaced with a smooth-shifting 9-speed automatic, which provides a way better driving experience.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the segment.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Release Date and Price

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 should arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 48.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Acura MDX, Volvo XC90 etc.
