2023 BMW X3 Preview: Price, Interior, Release date, m40i, Release date

2023 BMW X3 featured

After the 2022 refresh, the current generation of the Bavarian compact crossover is expected to remain in production for a few more years. This clearly indicates that the 2023 BMW X3 is about to carry on in the same way, without any bigger changes. We expect to see a familiar layout, with all the novelties that were recently introduced, of course. This includes things like new styling, new appearance package, new mild-hybrid powertrain etc.

Considering that the 2023 BMW X3 is about to continue in the same way, we know what to expect from this compact crossover. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the excellent driving experience, but this crossover is also very practical, as it offers one of the biggest cargo areas in the class. Also, we like its butter-smooth engines, as well as the intuitive infotainment system.

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2022.

2023 BMW X3 Design

The 2022 model came with notable updates, so we are pretty sure that the 2023 BMW X3 will be a typical carryover model. We are about the same styling, which has been updated with the new front end, things like the new grille, new headlights, bumper etc. There are also new taillights, as well as things like new wheels, new color options etc. Also, there is the M Sport appearance package, which brings the look of the M-badged model to more basic variants.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle remained the same. The X3 is well famous for its athletic handling, which makes it one of the most engaging models in the class to drive. At the same time, the ride remains quite comfortable, so those who don’t necessarily need a capable performer can enjoy this car as well.

Interior

The same thing goes for interior design. The recent update has brought a couple of new things, such as bigger infotainment and instrument screens, as well as a few more details. However, most of the cabin remained the same, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Simply, we like the X3’s relatively conservative dashboard design, which seems like refreshment in today’s world of digitalization. The materials are really nice, while the build quality is pretty impressive as well.

Besides the attractive look and great build quality, this cabin is also very practical. You may count on two spacious rows of seats, which accommodate adult passengers with ease. The cargo area is also pretty impressive. You may count on about 28.7 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats upright and 62.7 cubic feet with those seats folded, which is pretty impressive for a compact crossover.

Features

Novelties in terms of standard and available features are always possible, but we don’t expect that the 2023 BMW X3 could come with too many of them. Instead, most of the things should remain the same as in the current model. So, base models should come with 10-way power-adjustable front seats, 10.3-inch infotainment screen, 10.3-inch instrument cluster, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot, etc. Additionally, you can get a bigger 12.3-inch infotainment screen and instrument cluster, premium audio system and many more.

The same thing is with safety features. All models should come standard with front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning. Among upgrades, we expect to see a head-up display, adaptive pivoting headlights, parallel park assist, a surround-view parking camera system, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

2023 BMW X3 Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. So, base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 248 horsepower and enough power to satisfy most drivers. This engine is also very efficient. It returns around 25 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is great for the segment.

For those who are looking for something peppier, the Bavarian carmaker offers M40i a well-known 3.0-liter turbo inline-six, which is good for about 382 horsepower. Furthermore, the X3 M comes with a twin-turbo inline-six, which features a max output of 473 horsepower.

All engines come in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either rear or all wheels, depending on the configuration you choose.

2023 BMW X3 Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 BMW X3 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022, with a starting price of around 44.000 dollars.
