The new, second generation of the popular subcompact is here. The recent redesign has brought loads of interesting novelties and we are pretty sure that the so-needed redesign will keep the sales numbers at least at the same level. Still, all these changes don’t mean we won’t be seeing novelties in the following years as well. Moreover, some sources suggest interesting changes for the 2022 Nissan Juke already. As you may presume, most reports suggest new engine options in the offer. The company is still quiet on this matter. Therefore, take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.
On the other side, the base layout will remain pretty much the same, which means you may count on a small and dynamic car, which stands somewhere between a hatch and crossover. The interior features great quality, while the amount of features is at a high level as well. We expect to see 2022 Nissan Juke sometime in the next year.
2022 Nissan Juke Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2022 Nissan Juke definitely won’t change. You may count on a familiar design, which has brought significant improvements with the recent overhaul. The new model is notably bigger, as it features nearly four-inch longer wheelbase and more than three inches in the overall lengths. As you may presume, this brings notable improvements on the inside, but the thing we particularly like about the new model is the chassis design, which ensures excellent handling and pretty good efficiency.
When it comes to the styling, the new model sticks to some of the original aesthetical solutions but brings everything in a more modern manner. You can see a nice combination of Nissan’s latest iteration of the famous V-Motion grille and some of the Juke’s recognizable aesthetics, such as dual lighting groups at the front. All in all, the new model feels a little bit more conventional than the original, but still delivers lots of uniqueness. All in all, the 2022 Nissan Juke should carry on in the same way.
Interior
The same thing goes for interior design. We count on a familiar layout, which has brought a lot of improvement compared to the previous version. As we already mentioned, the new model features a longer wheelbase and overall length, so there is more legroom in the new model. That’s particularly noticeable in the second row. Also, the cargo area is 20% larger compared to the previous generation.
The new cabin really looks great. Most of the materials are soft to the touch, while the seating position is lower than you would expect in a crossover. We particularly like the number of standard and available tech and safety features and that is where this model really shines. That’s why we don’t expect to see too many novelties in the 2022 Nissan Juke.
2022 Nissan Juke Engines
The initial model came with just one engine in the offer. So, this is the aspect where we expect novelties in the near future. At this point, the European version comes only with a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, which puts out nearly 120 horsepower. It’s a solid base engine that comes with both manual and automatic gearboxes in the offer. Still, we definitely count on upgrades. As we are talking about the European market, a diesel version is expected already for the next year. Also, keep in mind that the version for the Japanese market comes with a new hybrid system, which is based on a 1.2-liter engine. It comes with a 1.57-kWh battery pack and a max output of 127 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque.
How About Nismo Version?
One of the big novelties for the 2022 Nissan Juke could be a Nismo version. The original one was characterized by loads of upgrades. Besides the engine, this model features lots of exclusive details, as well as a number of mechanical upgrades, starting from a sportier suspension setup and bigger brakes. Still, the most interesting part of this version should be the engine.
If we look at the original model, it features a potent 1.6-liter turbo-four engine with nearly 200 horsepower. Obviously, the new model should be more powerful and some sources suggest it might even come with the company’s new 2.0-liter turbo-four, with variable valve compression. It’s still early to talk about the numbers, but the new 2022 Nissan Juke Nismo could easily have more than 250 horsepower. More details should be known in the near future.
2022 Nissan Juke Release Date and Price
Given the number of possible changes, the 2022 Nissan Juke might come a little bit earlier than usual. Still, we don’t expect to see it before the second half of 2021. When it comes to the price, it probably won’t change for base models, which currently starts slightly under 15.000 GBP in the UK market.
I love my nissan juke and I would like to buy a new one. Mine is a 2013 with less than 50,000 miles on it, it’s been a great car & I love it ❤
