Three decades ago, GMC came up with something completely crazy. At the time when sports cars and roadster were dominating the scene, this manufacturer came with a hi-performance pickup, which came as GMC Syclone. It was the first time to see the performance truck on the market. These days, the original Syclone is already a classic and collectors are ready to pay a real fortune for it. The only thing is that it’s really hard to find a good example. Therefore, the tuner house from New Jersey came up with a great idea, to introduce a new, 2022 GMC Syclone.
This model is an upgraded Canyon and it is designed to bring back the flavor of the original model, paired with today’s industry refinement. The new model will be built in just 100 examples and it will turn this mid-size pickup into a real sports car.
2022 GMC Syclone Engine
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind about the 2022 GMC Syclone is the engine. At this point, we still don’t know the details but rumors say we could see two variants of the truck in the offer. Allegedly, the base version would come with an upgraded version of a well-known 3.6-liter V6. In a standard variant, this engine puts out around 308 horsepower but in this case, it gets a big help from a Supercharger and also gets a few more modifications, for a total output of 455 horsepower.
The other option would be the GM’s well-known 5.3-liter V8, which would also get significant upgrades. Thanks to numerous modifications, the max output could go all away up to 750 horsepower, which would make the 2022 GMC Syclone probably the fastest pickup truck around.
2022 GMC Syclone Redesign
Of course, the engine upgrade won’t be the only modification on this pickup truck. Of course, we count on various chassis upgrades, which would be able to follow this impressive amount of power. We expect to see the 2022 GMC Syclone sometime in the second half of the year. One of the things you should know is that this truck will be offered in a very limited series of just 100 units. Naturally, this leads us to the conclusion that this truck won’t be cheap. The latest reports suggest a starting price of around 75.000 dollars.
