2021 Mazda CX-3 Review, Release date, Changes, Turbo, Canada

2021 Mazda CX-3

The current generation of Mazda’s smallest crossover has been around for about five years but the Japanese manufacturer doesn’t plan changes for the next year. The 2021 Mazda CX-3 is about to carry on with familiar design characteristics, with the design that has been introduced in 2015. However, that’s not a bad thing at all, considering that many experts still put this model among the best subcompact crossovers on the market.

This means you may count on a familiar design, which still looks fresh. The CX-3 is among the prettiest models in the class and also offers the best driving experience. Its impressive driving characteristics are combined with impressive interior design and loads of standard equipment. However, this doesn’t mean that the 2021 Mazda CX-3 will be without flaws. It comes with a pretty tight second row of seats, while the cargo area is also among the smallest in the class. We expect to see it on the market later in the year.

2021 Mazda CX-3 Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2021 Mazda CX-3 will carry on in the same way. The current generation may be around for about five years but the company’s KODO design language simply looks gorgeous. Despite the age, this is still one of the best-looking models in the class, characterized by a sleek profile and loads of smooth loads. The 2021 Mazda CX-3 shouldn’t come with any particular changes for the next year, though there is always a chance to see a couple of new color options in the offer.

The mechanical aspect of the vehicle is also about to remain the same. This means you may count on the same level of driving dynamics and handling, which makes this crossover the most fun model to drive in the whole segment. At the same time, the ride isn’t firm at all and feel pretty relaxed.

Interior

The same story is on the inside. We are talking about one of the best-looking cabins in the class, which is full of fantastic details and feature impressive build quality. Materials are super-fine of mostly soft to the touch. We also like the driving position, while visibility is good in all directions. All this comes in a combination with loads of standard and available equipment, which makes everything look even more opulent.

On the other side, the aspect where this crossover isn’t particularly great is the amount of passenger space. While the front seats are spacious and well-designed, the second row is tight and most adults won’t feel so comfortable. The same story goes for the cargo area, which is among the smallest in the class. You may count on about 12.5 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total volume goes around 44.5 cubic feet.

Features

The biggest changes in this aspect are not expected but we won’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of new things on the list of standard equipment. Still, most of the things are about to remain the same. So, all models will come standard with tech goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo, voice recognition, and a USB port.

Things are even more impressive in terms of safety, where all models come with goodies like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a head-up display, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a rearview camera etc.

2021 Mazda CX-3 Engine

Things under the hood will certainly remain the same. You may count on a familiar four-cylinder unit, which puts around 148 horsepower. The engine comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either front or all wheels. In both cases, acceleration is solid, you may count on 0-60 time in about 8 seconds. Combined with the model’s class-leading handling, you may count on nothing less than an excellent driving experience.

Fuel economy is also a pretty high level. With the FWD model, you may count on about 29 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Ratings are slightly lower in the AWD model.

2021 Mazda CX-3 Release Date ad Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, the 2021 Mazda CX-3 should hit the market sometime late in the year. We don’t expect bigger changes in price, so base models should go around 21.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Hyundai Kona, Kia Soul, Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR etc.
