The new generation of the legendary luxury SUV is here and it brings a full load of novelties. The fifth iteration of the nameplate gets a complete overhaul. It includes a completely new platform, as well as completely new aesthetics. When it comes to the powertrain, standard models will carry on with a familiar 6.2-liter V8 engine, which comes without any change. So, the max output remains the same as well. This means you may count on about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which is the amount of power that ensures pretty amazing driving dynamics. GM promises improvements in terms of fuel economy. Still, we doubt we will see much higher ratings compared to the outgoing model that returns around 17 mpg combined.
A great thing for those who look for something more efficient is that the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade will be available in diesel version as well. It will come with a familiar 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which delivers around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines come in pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
