The Japanese automaker will deliver a brand-new 2020 Nissan Juke subcompact crossover with appealing design and excellent overall performance. Therefore, expect to see a lot of improvements, both in styling and in the engine room as well. The ongoing model is on the market for quite some time. Logically, the time has come for a severe redesign. The only update on the current model is adding a new Black Pearl Edition and the cold-weather package. The cold-weather feature was included back in 2017 as part of the standard equipment.
So, for the 2020MY version, Nissan must come up with a couple of updates to keep the subcompact competitive in the class. The new Juke comes with a reasonable price, and with a recognizable styling, it sticks out of the crowd. Also, the cabin design is very modern, and the engines offer just enough power to provide an exhilarating and smooth ride. The all-wheel-drive is available, as well as a manual transmission. However, the downside of this model might be the restricted cargo area and not so spacious cabin. If you need more room and better cargo space, Nissan Rogue is probably a better solution. The new model comes in four trim levels: SV, SL, Nismo, and Nismo RS.
2020 Nissan Juke Redesign
2020 Nissan Juke comes with an entirely original and futuristic design language. The subcompact crossover delivers a unique look. Very distinctive from the rest of the vehicles in the segment. Although the Juke didn’t go through a severe redesign in a few years, the current version still maintains a fresh appearance. But, the 2020 model will introduce redesigned grille, refined bumpers, as well as the front lights. As for the cabin, the dimensions will remain the same. The Japanese crossover accommodates five passengers, but the rear seats don’t provide much space for adults.
A similar case is with the cargo space. New Juke offers 10.5 cubic feet of cargo. Still, if you fold the rear seats, cargo extends up to 39.5 cubic feet. On the dashboard, you’ll find a 5.0-inch display for the infotainment system, while the SL version adds a 5.8-inch screen with navigation. On top of that, in the standard package, you’ll find keyless ignition, Bluetooth, 17-inch wheels, power-operating windows and lock, and a rearview camera. Of course, higher trims add more equipment like the audio system with 6-speakers, perforated leather, SiriusXM Traffic, voice recognition, etc.
2020 Nissan Juke Nismo RS
The most exciting model of the 2020 Nissan Juke lineup – Nismo RS will use a more refined version of a 1.6-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine. This mill produces 215 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. The 1.6-liter engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission, and the front-wheel-drive comes as a standard option.
However, if you choose the available all-wheel-drive setup and automatic gear case, the Nismo RS produces 211 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The first configuration returns 26/31 mpg city /highway. On the other hand, the AWD setup returns 25/29 mpg.
Engine Specs and Price
The standard engine for 2020 Nissan Juke will be a 1.6-liter inline, which produces 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The base unit is connected to continuously variable transmission. The regular 1.6-liter powertrain will be available both in AWD and FWD configurations. The FWD returns 28/32 mpg, while the AWD is rated at 26/30 mpg.
However, the US release date of 2020 Juke is still unknown. The customers in Europe might order the crossover since November. When it comes to price, the current model cost slightly above $21,000. We assume that 2020MY Juke won’t raise the price bar drastically.
